I got the idea to create a set of small, 6x6” square paintings that would complement each other and be more affordable than my larger paintings. It turns out When I finished them, I just loved how they looked so playful with the color palette and dappled light and it was hard to part with them!

I found this row of colorful buoys hanging on a dockside restaurant above buckets of beautiful summer flowers last summer when I visited Stonington, Maine. I loved the way the sunlight made interesting shapes and highlights on the buoys and how they complimented the flowers just a few inches below them. This is an energetic painting that keeps your eyes moving throughout the work, and is available this season at Small Wonder Gallery in Camden, Maine.
