What's new? Summer 2026

I am officially at a turning point in my career after closing the door on teaching visual art in public middle school as few days ago. This winter, in preparation for a new chapter, I experimented with linocut relief printing, entered and won a Minted challenge, researched art trends and began a new part-time teaching position at a local art studio. I am looking forward to being able to spend time in my own studio, developing my art in several directions. One of these directions is in the form of personal shows. I am scheduled for a show at the Amherst Town Library (NH) in October of 2027, which will be paintings of beautiful places and houses in Amherst. I am also scheduled for a show in August of 2027 at the Rochester Public Library, which will be seacoast themed and include more of my Dogs on the Beach series.

Below are some of the linocuts and paintings I’ve been working on as I closed out the school year.

Pumpkin Island Light 2

This is the second painting I have created of the beautiful Pumpkin Island Light silhouetted by brilliant setting sunlight. The first was small and square and did not include the surrounding water. This one shows the view that you see when standing on the farthest westward point of Little Deer Isle, looking west as the sun sets. From there one can see a long stretch of water, a thin strip of rocks and land, and finally the little island the lighthouse is on. I love how you can see the glowing sunlight in some of the back windows. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be to be in that light house, looking out on the sea as the sun sets.
